Laranthir is a relatively young elf hailing from port town Greengold, Kyonin. Raised as a minstrel, he learned how to play music, ancient lore of elves and how to create and maintain fiddle, instrument he use. During his days in the busy port city, he saw folks coming and going from all over the world. He often use his break to frequent taverns, performing there while seeking stories from travelers and merchants.


Among those adventurers, one capture his attention. A traveling bard halfling that spoke of many places, adventure and the freedom they have in doing so. He listened to those stories with rapturous awe, yearning for a moment he can venture out of Kyonin to experience Golarion in its fullest.

“There is so much to see, perhaps a key to finally take our forests and ruins back is somewhere out there! "

The world is vast, why we confine ourselves into this small place?” Laranthir plead to his elders and family to give their blessings for him to explore the world, yet they didn’t budge.

Under the threat of exile, Laranthir push on regardless and leave Kyonin. Whether one day he will be welcomed back or not, he himself cannot say for sure.

Laranthir wandered the shining Kingdom with only his fiddle and his journal on his back. Travelling from town to town, visiting villages, performing in taverns. He will stay only as long as he needed to buy tools and food so he can make it to the next town. He gained friends in fellow travelers, merchants, and local governments. He did this for two year or so, until he start to lose his meaning. “What is all of this for?” He asked himself.” Is it truly worth it to throw away life as comfortable minstrel in elven court for years of aimless wandering?”



Be it fate or coincidence, when he was playing halfheartedly one day he met a fellow performer at a tavern wearing robe with symbol of songbird. His song was splendorous, his hymns beauty, his words and movement brought wild emotion and gladness.

Laranthir asked this performer, what drives him? Why bother playing for peasant who will return to their ceaseless drudgery the very next day? And the performer told Laranthir story of Goddess of Beauty, Shelyn. He told stories about value of beauty, of meaning, of seeing beauty in everything and everyone, and of making this world a better, brighter place with arts.


Desperate for meaning, Laranthir asked this performer where he can learn about the Goddess, and he pointed Laranthir toward a temple of Shelyn in Absalom.


For four years, Laranthir pledge his service as performer in the temple. Slowly he regained his sense of meaning, and he realized why he was pushed to travel and wander outside Kyonin. There are much beauty in this world to marvel at, there are much beauty in art he can spread. Surely, it was Shelyn’s will that he was pushed out of Kyonin by his wanderlust.


Saying his gratitude for showing him the way, Laranthir take his leave from temple service. This time, he didn’t walk as an exiled elf, but as someone who will spread beauty in this world.

For two years he played his fiddle, sang his songs, spoke his oratory in many settlements and he noticed that he did make a differences in people life. A smile in farmers face, a laughter in a dreary tavern. Beauty was there, beauty is in him and within everyone that want to show it to this world. Realizing this, he gain another purpose : he want to spread his music and make this world a bit brighter with his performances.
