The Beginning:
A several knocks on the door can be heard upon one modest house in Taldor. It was a peaceful morning, and since the harvesting season have just passed, the villagers around the area are resting and taking their day off.
"Yes, yes. I'm coming" A voice of an old man can be heard, alongside his hastly footsteps.
"How may I... My God. Arthur..? Is that you? Is that really you?"
A tall man in his mid twenties stood and smiles toward the host. His modest clergy robe with Shelyn's insignia flows slowly as he moves forward and hug the old man.
"Yes, dear Elder. It's me. It's been a long time since we've met. And there's somet--"
"Sssssh boy! Let's continue this on the table. Come now! My wife will soon be home, and I bet she'll cook up your favorite stews!"
Arthur enters and soon the house was more lively than it used to be. Few guests have come by to say hi to their former "hero".
There was an obscure local tale about the blessed twins. It was said, once in every lifetime, a twin will be born upon this village and will be destined for greatness.
That was a story that he repeatedly hear over and over again in his childhood. More often after the villagers found out that him and his younger brother, Alexandre, was blessed by the divine deity. He still remember when both of them are sent into the Temple of Shelyn to be trained. How he and his brother always dreamed to be the hero of the people.
"You know big brother? I always wondered, have you ever been jealous upon me?" -- Arthur recalls one night in the meadow, after their first successful task, Al ask him this question.
To everyone, Alexandre was the manifestation of a fairy tale hero. He was strong and blessed by Shelyn. He's also charming and always seek to protect the meek from danger. In contrary, Arthur was fairly weak, and thus focus his study in healing and medicine.
"You are kidding right, Al? Never in my sane mind I will be jealous towards you. In fact, I am so proud that my brother is more and more closer in becoming the fabled hero."
Arthur then spend the rest of his afternoon mingling around his old neighbors.

The Soujourn:
Not long after the feast, Arthur wanders around in this small town. Slowly he walks toward the cemetery approached a lavish gravestone which said "Here Lies, Our Hero, Alexandre Leveilleur."
"Hey boy? Are you there?" said the Elder.
Arthur snapped back from his memories as he gazed upon his eyes on the gravestone.
"...Well, I know it is rough, boy, but it was never your fault to begin with. It's just unfortunate."
Arthur faintly smiles and nod as he glanced once more towards the gravestone. He knows that no one expect that his village was ambushed by some bandits. He knows all to well that his brother would charge in and protect the villager. No one expect that one of the bandit set fire on one of the house, and though badly wounded, he could not stop his brother from rushing in and saving a child.
For years he have blamed everything upon this fate. Himself for not capable enough, Shelyn for letting his brother dies, the child himself who he once saw as the source of this misery, even the nobles that let the bandits run amok.
He bitterly remember that no amount of mead and depravity can fill the void that Alexandre leave behind. Now he thoroughly hate his previous self.
"I know, Elder. I bet he'll be happy wherever he are. Just look at him. He died as a hero, and I couldn't be more proud of him."
After a brief moment, the Elder breaks the silences.
"Boy, aside from all of that old stories, we just glad that you are alright, and both of you have been part of this village's story. It is unfortunate that... Al's time is brief. But nevertheless, I can assure that he lives on in our memory."
Arthur nods again and smiles.
"I am forever grateful after your kindness, and will never be able to repay it. But alas, I want to meet you again, perhaps for one last time. Shelyn have been kind enough to give me a second chance, and I am more that willing to try."
"...yet my guts told me that, if I stay here, there's something that stay missing on me."
The Elder take a worried glance towards Arthur.
"Dear Elder, I have made peace with this fate. I know that what's done is done, and there's nothing I could do about it. Now I want to ask for your blessing before I depart on my journey. Pray, if I have found what I've be missing, I will return here as a one complete soul... Or even if I never found what I've been seeking, I think this journey alone is enough."
"... after all, I do make a promise to Al. Aren't we should be a hero together?"
The Elder smiles and laugh at Arthur.
"Well then, if that so, then I have nothing to be worried about. Just remember, this place will always be your home."

The Departure
Arthur found himself wandering around the city of Kintargo. It's not like he's never stay for a long time in a bustling city like this. He had some help from the Shelyn clergy, and was told that the person that want to contact him will met him in the nearby local Inn.
After a brief time, Arthur managed to find the place and set down for a meal. The barkeep ask him for his order before pausing and look at him throughly.
"are you... Are you Arthur Leveilleur? MY GOD! IT IS YOU! Come here and have a seat. This one is on the house!"
That person is a traveler who Arthur somewhat managed to save during his periof of life as a scum. He recalls that one day a bleeding man shows up and ask for some aid. Somewhat, although at that time he was devoid of his divine blessing, he accepted the man's plea and tend his wound. The man gradually gets better and thank him for saving his life.
He remembers that for a brief moment while tending his wound, Arthur feels the Shelyn's warmth once more. Soon after parting way with him, Arthur decided to ask for mercy and forgiveness from the Clergy. The Clergy approves and so begin his years as a hand of Shelyn, offering aid to everyone who are injured. Due to his previous experience as a soldier and helper to his brother, he focused himself in the warzone.
"Well, now I have a new name, and a new life here. But I'd never expect to see you after so long in here!"
"I am glad to hear that you're doing well. Well, honestly, I have to thanked you for changing my life too, for the better.""Ah, I see. That's explain your moniker. Am happy for you too, buddy. What are you doing now, and what are you doing here?"
"Hmm.. You'll see, I think no matter how far I've run or hide, I'll always finding myself out in the battlefield" said Arthur jokingly.
"So yeah, I've been roaming as a medic for Shelyn's clergy. And since the condition in my hometown have stabilized, I seek to venture somewhere else. The Clergy suggested me that they are planning to task me somewhere... I recall... Arcadia?"
"Excuse me, did you said Arcadia?"
A shady figures then turned towards Arthur.

"Are you sure about this?" asked one of the Shelyn's cleric while escorting Arthur towards the pier.
Arthur nods towards his fellow clerics, while donning his pin which he was introduced as 'Pathfinder Society - Arcadia Recon Charter'.
"Certainly. Somehow I feel this is the first step which to find what I seek."
"...Which is?"
Arthur take a long pause while looking backwards; toward the land that he might never see again.
"Is happiness good enough?" said Arthur while smiling.
"....If that so. Then have a safe journey. May the grace of Shelyn always nurture you."
Arthur nods and step forward into the ship that will take him toward his new life.
